Carbon fiber straps are a less invasive option than steel beams. They work on the same principle as beam supports - except carbon fiber straps (a material created by the US Military/NASA) are stronger than steel and weigh a fraction of a steel beam. Each strap is anchored at the top and bottom, and held to the wall with a water-resistant adhesive. Once secured, the straps can be painted over to match your foundation walls for a near-seamless finish.
