A basement is a great addition to any home. It adds extra living or storage space and it adds value when you decide to sell the home. However, none of this is true if the basement is wet or musty. There are multiple ways that water can enter the basement.
- At the floor joint
- Through the foundation wall
- Through cracks in the floor
A system should be designed that will solve all these penetrations. At Dry Otter, we use our years of experience and proven products to design the perfect system for your basement.
If you find that you have water penetration in your basement there are a few things you can check on your own. First make sure that all your down spouts are directed away from the home. Check the grade of the soil around the home.
Is the soil graded away from the home? Is there standing water near any of the foundation walls? You should first address the down spouts and the grading. If you are still leaking it is most likely ground water penetration and you will need a professional to look at the problem.
